Bokeh
The quality of out-of-focus areas of an image
Bokeh is often confused as being the same as depth-of-field. Bokeh (from the Japanese for “blur”) is actually used to refer to the aesthetic quality of the blurred areas of the image that lie outside the depth-of-field. Each lens will render its own unique bokeh which is dependent on the lens’s inherent aberrations and the shape of its aperture.
